O&K and TDFNL make announcements

As of tomorrow morning, community sport will be allowed to go ahead again for all ages. But a number of local leagues have opted not to start up again this weekend.

The Ovens and King Football and Netball League has decided to postpone their return to play until next Saturday the 19th of June.

"With the patron cap for Community Sporting venues restricted to just 150 people, it inhibits a home club’s ability to viably operate on game day," said the league in a statement to all clubs.

"It is imperative to acknowledge that this situation could quite easily worsen and therefore continue to cause havoc to scheduled matches within the OKFNL. However, the OKFNL are confident that the current easing of restrictions is a step in the right direction and one closer to returning to the field and court."

The remaining matches will go ahead as per the original fixture. The season end date will remain in place with round 20 on August 14th, and the WAW OKFNL Grand Final on September 11th.

The Tallangatta and District League has also decided not to go ahead with games this weekend, saying the crowd restrictions make it financially unviable for local clubs.

They have said they are investigating the option for junior teams to play their scheduled matches.

"This will need some careful management throughout the day to ensure that the 150 person Venue cap is not breached."
